The G7 unveil their own Counter-Strike 1.6 ranking system aimed to improve transparency much like their player contracts released earlier this year.

Unlike ZoneRank or GosuGamers rankings, the system behind the G7 rankings is accessible to all so teams can calculate how a win in a particular tournament will affect their ranking.

The ranking will also introduce a decay system with teams losing 8% of their points per month. For events to be included in the ranking they must be a LAN with a top 10 team (from the G7 rankings) attending and it must have a qualifying process.

With this new ranking, organizations will be able to:

#1 - Know exactly where to place in a tournament to retain their current positions
#2 - Predict possible outcomes of a tournament
#3 - Create more accurate seeds
#4 - Know which events are the most competitive and therefore more valuable

The current standings for the G7 rankings are:

"
1. fnatic 390.08 points
2. mTw 298.16 points
3. SK Gaming 216.31 points
4. Made in Brazil 216.02 points
5. Team Roccat 164.51 points
6. mousesports 162.41 points
7. Meet Your Makers 143.38 points
8. emuLate 97.02 points
9. aTTaX 83.83 points
10. e-STRO 72.12 points
"

The G7 have also applied their ranking system to 2003-2007 and you can check those out as well as how the points are determined in the G7 news item.
